Dear Horticulture For Healing-Loving Friends,
I’ve got some quick exciting updates for you:
1) After months of planning, collaborating, and designing our Plant Care Is Self Care Kits for women and girls, Horticulture For Healing delivered 40 kits (pictured below) this week to our first partner, a women’s substance use treatment center in Apopka Florida. Following Care Kit distribution, I will be heading back to the residential center to have our first monthly Feminine Empowerment Workshop with the residents. Currently we have approx.140 kits and three other centers (and counting) to distribute by the end of the year.
2) I recently published a new blog post for the month of November: Self Care: A Quiet Yet Powerful Call To Action Check it out : )
3) A women’s center recently notified us that they will be allowing a few visitors in person after 8 months of closure. They would like Horticulture For Healing to be one of the visitors. Along with delivering Care Kits to the women at residential, we will implement our original project and build gardens! Following the construction (approx. two weeks) our Feminine Empowerment Workshop would be held in person located at the gardens. For this proposal and to continue purchasing supplies for Care Kits we are in need of financial support.
I am currently searching for new grants to apply to and taking webinars to learn effective and efficient ways to fundraise. If you are able to donate to Horticulture For Healing at this time, your support will fund:
Building materials needed for two raised garden beds, soil, and plants. The cost is approximately $1,200.
Plant Care Is Self Care Kits. Currently, each Care Kit costs $12.47.
